IGF::OT::IGF THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS NASA UAS-NAS PROJECT VEHICLE TECHNOLOGIES DEMONSTRATION TASK IS TO ASSESS INDIVIDUAL VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY STATE OF THE ART FOR A TEST SITE DEFINED CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS (CONOPS). THE TEST SITE WILL PERFORM STATE OF THE ART VEHICLE DEMONSTRATIONS ACROSS ONE OR MORE OF THE FOUR UNIQUE UAS OPERATING ENVIRONMENTS (OE), AS DESCRIBED BELOW IN TABLE 1 (SECTION IV). NASA IS PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN THE LOW ALTITUDE URBAN OPERATING ENVIRONMENT. THE FAA UAS TEST SITES WILL COMPETE FOR THIS TASK (MINIMUM 1, UP TO 3 WILL BE AWARDED). THE VEHICLE DEMONSTRATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN-FLIGHT DEMONSTRATIONS, BUT OTHER DEMONSTRATION ENVIRONMENTS (E.G., SIMULATION) WILL BE CONSIDERED. A FEASIBLE DAA AND C2 SOLUTION IS REQUIRED, AND PERFORMANCE DATA SHALL BE PROVIDED TO NASA TO VALIDATE FEASIBILITY. THE VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATIONS PERFORMED SHALL FOCUS ON DEMONSTRATING ROBUST TECHNOLOGIES SUCH AS; DETECT AND AVOID (DAA), COMMAND AND CONTROL (C2), AUTONOMY, NAVIGATION, GROUND CONTROL STATIONS (GCS), AND OTHER CRITICAL VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY AREAS THAT ARE EXPECTED TO BE REQUIRED TO ENABLE THE CONOPS. THE VEHICLE TECHNOLOGIES DEMONSTRATION MUST BE CONDUCTED AND REPORTED ON PRIOR TO THE END OF FY2018.
