SAP PURCHASE REQUISITION: 4200264766 STATEMENT OF WORK FOR DEVELOPMENT OF SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE FOR INTEGRATION OF VEHICLE HEALTH MANAGEMENT RESEARCH 1.0 INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND: THE GOAL OF THIS EFFORT IS TO FORMULATE AN ARCHITECTURE SUPPORTING INTEGRATION AND TEST OF NASA-FUNDED IVHM RESEARCH. NASA ARMD IVHM PROGRAM SPONSORS A BROAD RANGE OF DIVERSE INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS. NASA'S VISION IS THAT ALL THESE DEVELOPMENTS WILL CONTRIBUTE AND COULD BE INTEGRATED INTO THE IVHM SYSTEM OF THE NEXT GENERATION AIRCRAFT. NASA WOULD USE THE IVHM ARCHITECTURE FOR ESTABLISHING REQUIREMENTS TO THE ARMD IVHM COMPONENT PROJECTS AND INTEGRATING RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT RESULTS OF THESE PROJECTS. AN ADVISORY WORKING GROUP WILL BE FORMED INCLUDING COLLABORATORS FROM BOEING, HONEYWELL, AND GE AVIATION (SMITHS) TO ENSURE THAT THIS PROJECT TAKES INTO ACCOUNT EARLIER IVHM ARCHITECTURE STUDIES. THIS PROJECT WILL RELY ON A NUMBER OF IMPORTANT STANDARDS APPLICABLE TO IVHM SYSTEMS, SUCH AS OSA-CBM AND DO-178B. THE IVHM ARCHITECTURE DEVELOPMENT WILL FOLLOW THE DOD ARCHITECTURE FRAMEWORK (DODAF). THIS EFFORT WILL BEGIN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TESTBED FOR DEMONSTRATING THE ARCHITECTURE. THE TESTBED SOFTWARE WILL INITIALLY FEED THE SIMULATION OR HARDWARE TEST DATA INTO THE IVHM ALGORITHMS. THIS APPROACH WILL BE APPLIED TO BOTH SUBSYSTEM-LEVEL ALGORITHMS AND TO THE IVHM SYSTEM-LEVEL LOGIC. THE ALGORITHMS DEVELOPED BY DIFFERENT GROUPS IN THE ARMD IVHM PROGRAM WILL BE INTEGRATED WITH THE TESTBED WITHOUT A SIGNIFICANT OVERHEAD TO THE RESPECTIVE PROJECTS. NASA WILL HAVE A STEP-UP OPTION OF EXTENDING THE INITIAL DEMONSTRATION TO PROVIDE AN ACTUAL REAL-TIME INTEGRATION OF THE IVHM TECHNOLOGIES INCLUDING SYSTEM RECONFIGURATION TO MITIGATE THE IMPACT OF THE FAULT. THIS STATEMENT OF WORK IS THE RESULT OF A PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY MITEK ANALYTICS FOR AWARD UNDER THE NASA HEADQUARTERS AERONAUTICS RESEARCH MISSION DIRECTORATE (ARMD) NASA RESEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT (NRA) ENTITLED RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES IN AERONAUTICS 2008, AMENDMENT 6, PROJECT IVHM, TOPIC 3.1. 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK: THE SCOPE OF WORK IS FOR A DETAILED SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE STUDY TO SUPPORT THE NASA AERONAUTICS MISSION RESEARCH DIRECTORATE (ARMD) IVHM PROJECT. THE IVHM PROJECT NEEDS A SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE FOR EFFICIENT INTEGRATION, TEST, AND DEMONSTRATION OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPED IN THE PROGRAM. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THIS STUDY IS TO INVESTIGATE AND FORMULATE SUCH A SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE. AN IVHM TESTBED IMPLEMENTING THE ARCHITECTURE WILL BE USED FOR TEST AND INTEGRATION OF THE FUNCTIONAL APPLICATION COMPONENTS DEVELOPED IN THE INDIVIDUAL IVHM PROJECTS. THE COMPONENTS COVER THE RANGE FROM SENSOR TECHNOLOGIES TO AIRCRAFT SUB-SYSTEMS TO VEHICLE-WIDE IVHM INTEGRATION TECHNOLOGIES. MORE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES ARE AS FOLLOWS: 2.1 FORMULATE ARCHITECTURE FOR IVHM RESEARCH INTEGRATION. ESTABLISH SYSTEMS INTEGRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR FUNCTIONAL APPLICATION (ALGORITHMS), SOFTWARE, AND AVIONICS PLATFORM. 2.2 SURVEY THE COMPONENT TECHNOLOGIES COMING FROM INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS OF THE NASA IVHM PROGRAM. ESTABLISH REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TECHNOLOGIES WITH THE AIM OF STEERING THE RESEARCH TOWARDS EVENTUAL USE IN ON-BOARD IVHM SYSTEMS OF NEXTGEN AIRCRAFT. 2.2 DEVELOP A TESTBED FOR INTEGRATION AND TEST OF THE IVHM RESEARCH BASED ON THE FORMULATED ARCHITECTURE. DEMONSTRATE INTEGRATION OF SELECTED COMPONENT TECHNOLOGIES. THIS STUDY WILL FOCUS ON THE INTEGRATION AND TEST OF IVHM COMPONENT TECHNOLOGIES. THE NASA IVHM TECH PLAN V.2 DESCRIBES FOUR TYPES OF TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT. 1) DEVELOP AND EMPLOY VIRTUAL AND REAL SENSORS TO ASSESS SUBSYSTEM STATES. 2) COUPLE STATE AWARENESS DATA WITH PHYSICS-BASED AND DATA-DRIVEN MODELS TO DIAGNOSE DEGRADATION AND DAMAGE CAUSED BY ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS AND ELECTRO/THERMO/MECHANICAL FAILURES. 3) INTEGRATE SUB-SYSTEM INFORMATION TO PROVIDE DIAGNOSTICS AND PROGNOSTICS FOR THE ENTIRE VEHICLE, INCLUDING USING DATA FROM ONE SUBSYSTEM TO PROVIDE INFORMAT
