AUTOMATED TOOL AND METHOD FOR SYSTEM SAFETY ANALYSIS TRIAKIS WILL PROVIDE SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF NASA SOFTWARE ASSURANCE RESEARCH PROGRAM (SARP) CENTER INITIATIVE RESEARCH PROJECT: AUTOMATED TOOL AND METHOD FOR SYSTEM SAFETY ANALYSIS. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ORION ORDINANCE SUBSYSTEM SIMULATION AND VIRTUAL INTEGRATION TEST FRAMEWORK THAT RE-USES MODEL INFORMATION EXTRACTED BY NASA TOOLS THAT ARE BEING DEVELOPED IN THE PROJECT. THE WORK IN 2010 FOCUSES ON AUTOMATION OF MANUAL METHODS THAT HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED TO MAP THE EXTRACTED MODEL INFORMATION TO THE SIMULATION MODEL FOR INTEGRATION TESTING. THIS EFFORT IS A CONTINUATION OF WORK WHICH STARTED THREE YEARS AGO. IN THE PAST PROCUREMENTS, TRIAKIS REVIEWED NASA S CREW EXPLORATION VEHICLE (CEV) PRELIMINARY HAZARD ANALYSIS (PHA), MADE RECOMMENDATIONS ON CANDIDATE CASES COMPATIBLE WITH VSIL-BASED TESTING AND SUPPORTED THE DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNIQUE/TOOL FOR CONVERTING TEXT-BASED REQUIREMENTS TO ICOSIM AUTO-TEST AND AUTO-TEST COMPATIBLE FORM. TRIAKIS ALSO DEVELOPED CEV SYSTEM-LEVEL VSIL SIMULATOR WITH ENOUGH FIDELITY TO CONDUCT LIMITED TESTING OF SELECTED CASES AS WELL AS EVALUATED VIABILITY OF SYSTEM-LEVEL TESTING USING OUTPUT OF REQUIREMENTS CONVERSION TOOL.
