NANO-PARTICLE ENHANCED POLYMER MATERIALS FOR SPACE FLIGHT APPLICATIONS THE MISSION OF THE GODDARD SPACE FLIGHT CENTER IS TO EXPAND KNOWLEDGE OF THE EARTH AND ITS ENVIRONMENT, THE SOIAR SYSTEM AND THE UNIVERSE THROUGH OBSERVATIONS FROM SPACE. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS MISSION IT IS CRITICAL FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF ESSENTIAL TECHNOLOGIES. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS WORK IS TO ADVANCE MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY BY IMPLEMENTING NANO-PARTICULATE ENHANCED POLYMER MATERIALS FOR MMS. RECENT ADVANCES IN MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY BOTH IN POLYMER CHEMISTRY AND NANO-PARTICULATES WARRANT DEVELOPMENT OF ENHANCED STRUCTURE FOR SPACE FLIGHT APPLICATIONS. THIS WORK AIMS TO DEVELOP SPACECRAFT STRUCTURES THAT UTILIZE THESE ADVANCEMENTS. MULTI-WALL NANO-TUBES (MWT) ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE, LOWER CTE, INCREASE ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY (MITIGATE ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE), AND REDUCE MOISTURE ABSORPTION OF THE RESULTANT SPACE STRUCTURES.
