| INTELLIGENT OPTICAL SYSTEMS, INC. (IOS) AND NASA HAVE IDENTIFIED SPECIFIC SENSING NEEDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SPACESUIT GARMENT AND PLSS THAT CAN BE MET BY THE NON-INTRUSIVE OPTICAL GAS SENSOR (NIOGS) TECHNOLOGY. WE HAVE ALSO DEFINED THE PLAN TO FURTHER MATURE AND VALIDATE THE SYSTEM DEVELOPED IN PHASE II TO MEET THOSE NEEDS. AT THE END OF PHASE II, IOS WILL HAVE DEVELOPED A NIOGS PROTOTYPE AND DELIVERED IT TO NASA, AND WILL HAVE SUPPORTED NASA TESTING OF THE SYSTEM IN THE VENTILATION LOOP TEST RIG (VLTR), WHERE SYSTEM FUNCTIONALITY WILL BE VALIDATED. DATA RECORDED BY NASA WILL BE ANALYZED BY IOS, AND THE SYSTEM DESIGN WILL BE REVIEWED TO ADDRESS ANY LIMITATIONS OF THE NIOGS FOUND DURING THIS FIRST FUNCTIONALITY EVALUATION.
