OUR FIELD MEASUREMENTS NOT ONLY INCLUDE STREAM DISCHARGE AS GIVEN BY USGS GAUGING STATIONS, BUT ALSO CROSS-SECTIONAL FLOW VELOCITY, CHANNEL BATHYMETRY AND MORPHOLOGY, AND RIPARIAN TOPOGRAPHY AND VEGETATION CANOPY. THESE MEASUREMENTS FROM TWO HYDROLOGICALLY AND GEOMORPHICALLY DIFFERENT RIVER BASINS WOULD BE VALUABLE FOR EVALUATING THE HYDRAULIC PARAMETERS INVERTED BY SWOT DISCHARGE ALGORITHMS, INVESTIGATING THE IMPACTS OF TOPOGRAPHIC AND VEGETATION CANOPY LAYOVER ON THE SWOT RETRIEVALS OF RIVER WATER SURFACE ELEVATION AND SLOPE, AND EXPLORING POSSIBLE APPROACHES TO IMPROVING SWOT DATA PROCESSING METHOD AND DISCHARGE ALGORITHMS.
