THIS THIN BOUNDARY LAYER ENHANCES THE THERMAL AND MASS TRANSPORT FLUXES TO THE CHANNEL WALLS INCREASING THE SEPARATION RATE. WITH THIS MICRO-CHANNEL APPROACH, THE MEMBRANE SURFACE AREA TO VOLUME RATIO IS MAXIMIZED REDUCING THE OPERATING COSTS AND CAPITAL COSTS FOR THE UNIT.
