"In this Senior Level (SL) position you will serve as a Chief Data Officer and senior technical advisor to the Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) for Office of Information and Technology (OIT). Joining Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information and Technology will allow you to use your expertise in IT principles, concepts and methods to support IT systems and services.
In this position, you will become a key member of the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) team. Typical work assignments include:
Developing and assigning data related roles and responsibilities, promoting employee development in data access and analysis, and establishing and executing a Strategic Data Plan.
Governing enterprise data assets and inventory to ensure data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely to support the mission and activities of DHS.
Implementing the statutory and regulatory requirements related to information resources management and the collection and release of information across DHS, including the Information Quality Act (Pub. L. 106-554) and the Paperwork Reduction Act's (Pub. L. 96-511) required coordination and certification.
Leading the Information Technology records management program to maintain modernization of records management practices, translation of records management requirements into business processes, and management of records management risk in compliance with the Federal Records Act (Pub. L. 81-754), the Presidential and Federal Records Act Amendments of 2014 (Pub. L. 113-187).
Serving as the Department's Liaison to the public and private Data Analysis Communities, as the Consultant for Technical Expertise, and providing expertise on all new major data-related or data-intensive and statistical initiatives."
