Kathryn Coulter Mitchell, a senior executive armed with over 20 years of experience supporting the Department of Homeland Security in private and public sector capacities, has taken on a new role at the department's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency as Chief of Staff. In this role, she is responsible for the planning, allocation of resources, and development of long-range objectives in support of the department's goals and milestones; she provides strategic vision, guidance, and direction to ensure CISA's Director is prepared to interdict or respond to threats to the homeland. Prior to her role at CISA, Kathryn served as the Deputy Under Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) where she oversaw the operational and organizational needs of the $1 billion, 500-career-employee Directorate.
