Responsibilities: This Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Specialist position is located in the Operations and Engineering Division (OED), Information Technology (IT), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Supervisory IT Specialist, you will serve as a Section Chief and your typical work assignments may include: Directly manages IT programs/projects applying technical knowledge of various specialized areas of applications development, engineering, network operations and maintenance functions, and conceives, plans, and conducts studies involving complex issues and unique problems. Participates in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies, and often develops new policies, procedures, and approaches taking into consideration TSA policies, government-wide rules, regulations, and industry standards. Provides technical analysis to senior leaders that can impact organizational vision and direction, and prepares, reviews and may approve organizational reports or policies for internal and external distribution. Implements project plans to meet objectives; coordinates and integrates project activities; manages, leads, or administers project resources; monitors project activities and resources to mitigate risk; implements or maintains quality assurance processes. Ensures that all acquisitions, procurements, and outsourcing efforts address information security requirements consistent with organization goals.
