Responsibilities: In addition to the duties listed in the "Job Summary" section, the Chief Data Scientist's duties include the following: Adopts and updates a comprehensive data science strategy Develops and maintains a data science strategic plan that provides a roadmap for bureau-wide data science innovations in the short, medium, and long term Sets policies and best practices for shared data repositories, metadata structures, and data processing Oversees major development and improvement of techniques and assures expansion and integration of the source data used in the production of the Bureau's economic measures and related analyses Briefs the Secretary, the Deputy Secretary, the Under Secretary for Economic Affairs, the department's Chief Economist, and other officials of the DOC, officials of other federal agencies, and public and private groups on subjects associated with innovations in the economic measurement activities of the Bureau Read the full job description.
