Responsibilities: The Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of the Chief Information Officer (IM-1) is looking for a dynamic, innovative, seasoned executive to lead and serve as the department's Deputy Chief information Officer for Enterprise Operations and Shared Services (IM-60). This position is responsible for an array of essential and mission critical cyber and enterprise information resource management services. By means of ensuring value in transforming, re-engineering, and supporting mission operations and service delivery. The executive is responsible for providing reliable, secure, and cost-effective information technology support services that satisfy business needs and enable mission outcomes. For more information regarding the Office of the Chief Information Officer: Visit our webpage As the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Enterprise Operations and Shared Services you will: Provides leadership for the strategic direction and management of Department-wide enterprise operations and shared services resources and facilities. Provides strategic and tactical leadership of service delivery supporting the majority of the DOE Federal staff and their immediate support contractors, as well as the Department's extended enterprise partners. Provide executive oversight and technical management of cloud, compute, storage, data, and an IT Services Portfolio infrastructure. Support and integrate initiatives, and necessary implementation plans to meet future cyber needs. Executive knowledge of IT theories and concepts, practices, and emerging issues; and project management methods and concepts sufficient to oversee the efficient and effective lifecycle management of agency-wide enterprise information resources services and solutions while ensuring value in transforming, re-engineering, and/or supporting mission operations and service delivery. Maintain IT infrastructure process models that are consistent with enterprise architecture and security policies, evaluating new tools and prototypes, ensuring integration of all new applications deployed over the shared infrastructure, which may be acquired as commercial off-the-shelf software packages, adopted from the Federal government-wide electronic government initiatives or custom applications developed for DOE. Demonstrate the ability to transform and re-engineer IT operations in support of changing business needs along with ensuring effective vendor relationship management. Experience handling complex IT organizations with substantial financial contracts. Demonstrating management techniques that prioritize limited resources, fee-for service models for cost recovery and innovative contracting practices. Provides and supports secure, national-level decision making communications for the Secretary of Energy, advisors, and top-level management.
