As a Supervisory IT Specialist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Serves as the Chief, Enterprise, Engineering, and Infrastructure Operations Division, with managerial responsibility for implementing the policies, procedures, programs and strategies governing the planning and delivery of IMT services throughout the Service. Provides technical expertise, overall program management support; and technical direction for the Service-wide operational environment, including logical and physical data architecture, service architectures, systems software, data management systems and services; data interchange service, IT security architecture, quality assurance, technical risk management, and configuration control. Manages work to be accomplished by subordinates, including formulating and developing short and long-range planning and technology policies that increase levels of service in the following Service Delivery Areas (SDAs): Network operations center operations and business management liaison support; and Enterprise Operations, to include configuration management, hosting and system administration, communications services and security operations. Advises the Assistant Director (AD) and Deputy AD (DAD) for IRTM and other senior FWS officials on the utilization, and management of information technology and resources consistent with law and the Service's priorities, focusing management attention on value-added uses of information technology that maximally supports mission and operations. Communicates highly technical aspects of the Service's IMT infrastructure to managers, stakeholders and vendors. Works closely with subordinate branch chiefs and project managers to ensure that the operational infrastructure is consistent with requirements. Serves as the FWS Senior Technology Advisor (STA) at department level meetings regarding implementation of programs that impact not only FWS but other bureaus. The intent is to seek consistency in application of programs and policy. Oversees the implementation of bureau-wide technology in FWS to include Enterprise Infrastructure, End User Services, Information Security, Information Management, Cloud Adoption, and Service Automations. In coordination with the FWS DACIO, develops strategic goals and implements strategic technical change, both within and outside the organization.
