The incumbent carries out the following specific responsibilities: Serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and provides management leadership in information security policy and guidance, expert advice, and collaboration with bureaus and offices, oversight agencies, and the Congress on matters relating to protecting the Department of the Interior's (DOI's) information assets. Develops the Department's position on proposed IT security measures and policies which effect DOI's information systems including those supporting National Critical Infrastructure Systems. Assures information policies, principles, standards, and guidelines are implemented throughout Interior, their effectiveness is measured, and they are coordinated with the DOI's information architecture. Trains and mentors other members of the information assurance community within bureaus and offices. Read the full job description here.
