Take Bytes: IBM confirmed that it will acquire software company Apptio from private equity firm Vista Equity Partners in a $4.6 billion deal. Apptio, which helps businesses track their use of software and services usage as well as financial costs, fits into IBM’s goals to "bolster its capabilities in cloud and automation," Reuters reports. The software company previously partnered with IBM in 2021, when the two firms worked on an initiative to help companies improve decision-making with data.
