Duties ABOUT THE POSITION The CTO ensures IT systems are created and updated using a customer experience model and incorporate the newest systems technology. Responsible for IT environment scanning and providing expert advice on advances, trends and directions in IT architecture, application software development, telecommunications, networks, systems security, electronic data interchange (EDI), and platforms (mainframe, mid-tier, desk-top); and explores opportunities for their effective implementation within the enterprise. Applies sound systems development methodologies and project management methods to solve programmatic/business issues while successfully managing schedules, costs and risks. Develops policy for advancements in technologies and assures the optimization of IT investments and proposes changes in IT and information management. Recognized as an expert and technical advisor while serving as spokesperson within the enterprise for advanced technical matters relating to the development, evaluation, and utilization of information technologies.
