G2X TAKE: Looking to build on a recent Government Project of the Year Award received for its work on the DHA Pharmacy Analytics Support Section (PASS) project, fast rising small business Unissant was just awarded a new contract with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to support the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Branch (AFHSB). As part of this 5-year task Unissant will provide data management and application development support for the operation of the Defense Medical Surveillance System (DMSS) and its associated applications. DMSS is the DoD's premier epidemiological resource, and is a continuously growing longitudinal database of health-related information on Service members consisting of over 3 billion data records including medical encounters (hospitalizations, outpatient visits, immunizations, reportable medical events, health risk appraisals, and deployment health assessments), demographic characteristics, and military experiences (deployments, assignments, casualty information) of military Service members and medical encounters on military associated populations. This task was competed using GSA’s Health IT SIN, one of several Prime contract options this small business has available to them, to include CIO-SP3 SB and CMS SPARC SB. This is Unissant’s first win under the Health IT SIN. We should note that Unissant has been very aggressive on the recruiting front in the last six months, to include adding industry veteran Ken Bonner this past fall as their new EVP in charge of Federal Growth and Macon Hardy as VP of Business Development late last year – talk about a quick return on investment. Unissant remains #onetowatch as we close out FY18 and look to FY19 as both a potential partner and competitor.
