G2X TAKE: Beating out two other bidders, CivitasDX, a service-disabled Veteran-owned small business JV, has been awarded a 3 ½-year task with the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide services to support IT legacy sustainment applications and DevSecOps for Corporate portfolio product lines. The task, valued at $96M, was awarded as an SDVOSB set-aside action using T4NG. Take Bytes Earlier this summer Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) announced that Halfaker and Associates, LLC, an SAIC company, and Cognitive Medical Systems had acquired CivitasDX, a certified service-disabled, Veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) joint venture to optimize digital experiences between citizens and their governments. More on that here. At the same time as this announcement, CivitasDX novated a T4NG Prime contract previously awarded to The Informatics Applications Group (tiag). Agile Six Applications had acquired tiag’s Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology Next Generation (T4NG) business unit, which included tiag’s T4NG contract vehicle and work supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), in 2017. More here. Halfaker has made several key personnel investments over the course of the past few years to position them for the long term. These include recruiting Ken Georgi to be Chief Operating Officer - Ken is now Vice President Healthcare with SAIC; adding former MHS EHR Acquisition Leader Jessica Denman, who now serves as Senior Director, VA/DHA Portfolio (IT) at SAIC; the addition of well-known Federal Health Industry leader Tony Meyer, who now serves as Director, Veterans Affairs at SAIC; and adding veteran strategy and growth leader Jerry Ambrosh, who now serves as Vice President at SAIC. Cognitive Medical Systems, led by President and Co-Founder Douglas Wayne Burke, and CEO and Co-Founder Emory Fry, recently recruited Luke Thomas to be Business Development Director - Veterans Affairs. Cognitive Medical Systems, Halfaker, and SAIC were all named to the list of NXT UP firms poised to make big waves in the Federal sector in 2020 and for years to come.
