Duties Leads, manages, directs the formulation and analysis of health care related policy and planning issues; develops, analyzes, implements, and coordinates system-wide planning goals, objectives, strategies, requirements, and procedures including evaluative tools and planning models to support the Department and VHA operations, program development and policy issues. Leads and manages the assessment of key trends in health care and translating them as appropriate into strategic guidance for VHA. Manages strategic issues for policy formulation and resolution by the organization. Prepares directives, regulations and other policy documents to support decision making by national governance bodies including the Governance Board, Strategic Directions Committee and the Under Secretary for Health.
