The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation (DLA) is conducting market research through this Sources Sought notice to identify companies capable of manufacturing or providing 429 National Stock Numbers (NSNs) associated with Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems (MABS). The agency intends to establish a strategic long-term contract to support consumable and Depot Level Reparable spare parts for aircraft wheel and brake systems, classified under PSC 1630. These items are currently assigned to MABS CAGE codes 0B9R9, 21849, and K1037. The acquisition is intended to renew existing contracts expiring in 2028 and will likely be conducted through other than full and open competition, as MABS is currently the sole source manufacturer and the government does not possess the technical data for these parts.
The anticipated contract structure includes a five-year base period and one five-year option period, resulting in a total 10-year period of performance. While the initial population consists of 429 items, the government may add additional sole-source MABS parts through contract modifications. Interested parties must submit their responses by May 18, 2026, though the initial request for information seeks responses by March 16, 2026. The place of performance is Richmond, Virginia, and the primary point of contact is Chadney Thompson. Two attachments detailing the Meggitt Class Population were updated and posted in March and May 2026.
Businesses seeking to qualify as an approved source must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package demonstrating their ability to manufacture products to the same quality level as the current items. This notice, identified by solicitation number SPE4A626R0161, is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a commitment by the government to award a contract.
