U001--Notice of Intent to Sole Source ASHP Pharmacy Residency Accreditation Services VISN 4

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 4, intends to award a five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract on a sole-source basis to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). This requirement provides accreditation services for VA Pharmacy Residency Programs across Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 4. Under VHA Handbook 1108.09(2), all pharmacy residency programs must be accredited by ASHP, which serves as the exclusive accrediting body for such programs in the United States and conducts all necessary site visits.

The anticipated contract effective date is January 2023, covering an indefinite quantity of pharmacy residents throughout the performance period. Per agency policy, accreditation fees are mandatory and remain the responsibility of the individual VA medical facility Director.
