Benning TSC Wide Belt Sander

The Department of the Army, Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) - Fort Drum, has issued solicitation W911S225QTSC2 for the procurement of a wide belt sander for the Benning Training Support Center (TSC). The scope of this solicitation covers a Powermatic WB-37 or equivalent 37-inch wide belt sander equipped with a 20HP, 3-phase motor and centralized controls. The equipment must feature a variable speed feed belt, digital readout for precision thickness control, and an air-eye system to manage the oscillation of the 37-inch by 7-inch sanding belt. The machine utilizes a three-motor system: a primary motor for the drive drums, a secondary 1HP motor for the feed belt, and a third motor for automated feed table adjustments. Safety specifications include pneumatic sensor controls and a safety disc brake for emergency stops.

Technical performance standards require a sanding belt speed of 2,625 FPM and the capacity to handle boards up to 37 inches wide and 6 inches thick.
