F-15E Ammunition Container Overhaul

The Department of the Air Force is issuing a pre-solicitation notice for the repair of the Ammunition Container, identified by NSN 1005-01-298-2522. This component is exclusive to the F-15E’s 20mm M61A1 Gatling gun system and performs the critical functions of storing and feeding ammunition. This acquisition is categorized under NAICS code 332993, Ammunition (except Small Arms) Manufacturing, and PSC 1005, GUNS, THROUGH 30MM. There is no set-aside for this requirement.

The government intends to award a sole-source Requirements Indefinite Delivery Contract to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS). This action is authorized under FAR 6.302-1 because GD-OTS possesses the proprietary technical data and licenses required for the overhaul, which the government does not own. The anticipated contract structure includes a one-year base period, four one-year ordering options, and a six-month extension option. Participation by foreign contractors is not permitted for this effort.

Work will be performed in Vermont under solicitation number FA855426R0003.
