NOTICE OF INTENT to Award Sole Source - Overt Security Feature for US Currency THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of Acquisition on behalf of its Office of Technology Development (OTD) intends to award a sole source Research & Development contract for the development of an overt features suitable to the needs of the BEP and the United States Currency Program (USCP). The Government intends to award a sole source contract utilizing Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements IAW FAR Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). Anticipated Period of Performance: one twelve (12) month base and four twelve (12) month option years. The vendor will perform a full lifecycle technology development of US exclusive overt security features with novel and unique optical effects. The scope of the new effort is to further the technology readiness level (TRL) of those technologies resulting from the current contract to advance them through the Technology Development Process (TDP) and to incorporate new concepts as necessary to ensure a secure and technically relevant feature platform. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive offers/quotes/proposals. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The solicitation will not be posted.
