65--Preventive maintenance and repair for Varian LinearAccelerators and their components

PRESOLICITATION NOTICE The Veterans Affairs Network 22 Logistic Office intends to procure items, on an other than full and open competition basis (under authority of Far 6.302-1), from the following: Varian Medical Systems, Inc. 596 Alder Drive, Milpitas, CA 95035. The government intends to award a sole source contract for preventive maintenance service and all intervening service call for two (2) Varian Linear Accelerators with all their components and accessories located at VA Long Beach and VA GLA Healthcare Systems. The intended contract will be for a base period of one (1) year with the government's option to extend the contract for four (4), one (1) year periods. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements by submitting their interest in writing with complete name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and a point of contact. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government will consider all responses received by 9:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time, Wednesday, June 4, 2008. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
