The Department of the Navy, Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), intends to issue a solicitation and negotiate a sole-source contract with Lockheed Martin Corporation for specialized engineering and technical services. This effort supports the construction of the Common Missile Compartment (CMC) for the Columbia-class submarine, specifically focusing on Trident II (D5LE) missile and reentry subsystems. Work involves comprehensive technical and program management services for missile system integration, support equipment, and experimental vehicles. The performance period is scheduled to run from March 1, 2027, through February 28, 2032, and requires a security clearance for performance at the Washington Navy Yard, DC.
The procurement is classified under NAICS 541330 for Engineering Services and PSC L014 for Technical Representative- Guided Missiles. There is no set-aside designated for this requirement. SSP cites the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) for the sole-source award, as Lockheed Martin is the only known source with the critical experience, methodology, and history required for the Trident program. The government anticipates awarding a contract containing Cost-Plus Fixed Fee, Level-of-Effort, and Completion Term Line Item Numbers.
Under solicitation number N0003026C2017, Elizabeth Tamas serves as the point of contact.
