The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Marshall Space Flight Center issued this Request for Interest (RFI), identified by solicitation number MSFC-MAF-001-2026_RFI, to identify public and private entities interested in partnering for the development of land at the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, Louisiana. NASA seeks qualified firms to develop and operate Discovery Park, a proposed 45-acre multi-use, multi-tenant technology park located on the northern edge of the 830-acre government-owned campus. This initiative aims to increase private sector participation in space exploration, support commercial space transportation, and promote technology development for space and terrestrial applications. While the primary focus is the 45-acre Discovery Park site, which includes options for development both inside and outside the facility’s security perimeter, NASA will also consider interest in other areas of MAF.

This special notice falls under PSC X1PC for the lease or rental of unimproved real property (land). MAF currently operates under a Federal City model and serves as a manufacturing hub for more than 24 federal, state, academic, and commercial tenants. Responses to this RFI are due by April 2, 2026, following an industry day held on February 26, 2026. The agency has provided two attachments, including the original RFI document and a question and answer sheet updated on March 19, 2026.
