The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is conducting market research to identify vendors capable of providing one Electro-Magnetic Gradiometer Sensing System Hardware (EMG-SSH) device. This system must be sensitive between 50kHz and 750kHz with the capacity to make measurements in the picotesla range to enable the detection and mapping of long linear subsurface conductors. The government is seeking information regarding a vendor's ability to fabricate the physical and electronic instrumentation, develop software for operation and data storage, and provide peripheral components including a small tablet, GPS, and a standalone computer.
This sources sought notice is identified under solicitation number W912HZ26S2027 and is classified under NAICS 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing, and PSC 6695, Combination and Miscellaneous Instruments. The ERDC is utilizing this information for planning purposes to assess alternatives and trade-offs before potentially releasing a request for quote. The primary point of contact for this requirement is Janalyn Dement at the W2R2 USA ENGR R & D CTR office.
Interested parties are requested to submit a capability statement that addresses their experience with radio frequency electromagnetic sensing systems and subsurface characterization. Responses must include company administrative data, business size status, and answers to specific technical capability questions. All materials must be submitted via email by June 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM Central Standard Time. The notice includes one attachment, a DRAFT DOR-EMG-SSH Sensor System.pdf, which provides the draft description of requirements.
