The Department of the Air Force, 628th Contracting Squadron, has issued a notice of intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order under solicitation FA441826Q0054. This requirement is for the procurement of repair services, including all necessary parts and labor, for a Fortus 450MC 3D-printer located at Building 536 on Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. Certified technicians will perform repairs and updates to return the machinery to operational status, which serves as a prerequisite for initiating an Emerald Service plan. One attachment, a Performance Work Statement dated April 22, 2026, is associated with this notice.
The government intends to award this contract to Stratasys, Inc. because the original equipment manufacturer is the only vendor authorized to perform the repairs required to bring the printer back to operational status. This procurement is classified under NAICS 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance and PSC J074 for the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of office machines, text processing systems, and visible record equipment. There is no set-aside assigned to this action.
In accordance with Technical Order 34A-1-1, this sophisticated additive manufacturing equipment requires long-term service contracts provided by the manufacturer to ensure maintenance beyond the organization's internal capabilities. While this is an intent to sole source, the agency will consider capability statements from responsible sources that provide verifiable proof of certification from Stratasys, Inc. The deadline for responses is May 7, 2026, and all inquiries should be directed to Nicole Alvarez.
