National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) Southern Regional Weather Records Center (SRWRC)
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued solicitation 1332KP26R0027 to establish the Southern Regional Weather Records Center (SRWRC). This initiative supports the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by providing a bridge between national environmental data and regional user communities across Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. The contractor must be physically located within this geographic region to deliver tailored products and services that address long-term weather variability and impacts. This requirement is classified under NAICS 541990, All Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services, and PSC R427, Support- Professional: Weather Reporting/Observation.
The scope of work focuses on four primary areas: regional engagement to identify user needs, prioritization and development of weather tools and products, transitioning successful tools to NCEI operational states, and sustained mission support services. The SRWRC will leverage NOAA’s satellite, radar, and paleoclimate data to create regionally specific resources that promote economic resilience and environmental prosperity. The contractor will work to capture user requirements from diverse sectors and translate them into usable products for decision-makers while supporting NCEI’s national environmental information responsibilities.
Performance is centered in Asheville, North Carolina, though the SRWRC must serve all states and affiliated territories within its designated southern region. There is no set-aside designated for this procurement (NONE). The response deadline is June 17, 2026, and the solicitation includes eight attachments, such as a Performance Work Statement, a Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan, and a pricing matrix. Recarlo Applewhite is the primary point of contact for this requirement.
