Chill Water Unit shall be a minimum 150 Ton Capacity Chiller. Must be air-cooled. Must be operable on a single 460/480 (V), 400 Amp Breaker ( MAXIMUM ). Must be provided with a male 500 mcm Camlock electrical connection. Single Circulating pump (minimum). CRITICAL SYSTEM SUPPORT: Unit must be capable of operating twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a Week. At a minimum, the pumping system shall be capable of...
View moreUnit must be free standing and have forklift slots (capable of being moved with a forklift). If the unit is not a complete unit, each component shall be capable of being moved with a forklift as well.
Chiller Unit to be equipped with operational Inlet and Outlet Pressure Gages. Pressure gages are to be located on the contractor provided supply and discharge manifolds.
Unit shall have an electronic monitoring system that monitors inlet and outlet temperatures and flow rates.
Desired output water temperature range is 45° F - 55° F.
Evaporator must be capable of delivering a leaving temperature of less than 45 °F.
Condenser must be capable of operating in a wide ambient temperature range (0-125 °F).
Shown in figure below, Contractor is to provide all equipment from the return manifold to the supply manifold. System shall be a complete unit. If pump is separate, vendor will provide and install all piping/valves/fittings as required to couple pump to the Chill Water Unit. Vendor is to provide extra fittings and hoses to support installation, as required. If the system requires assembly, the system shall be assembled in such a way that it does not cause tripping hazards by minimizing the lengths of hoses between components. If lengths of hoses are longer than needed, it should be able to be coiled and put somewhere out of the way of normal foot traffic. Hoses shall be routed in a way that does not cause the hose to kink and reduce flowrate.
If chiller system holds 55 gallons or more of fuel or oil or similar fluid, provide an environmental catch tank capable of holding at least 110% of the capacity of the fuel, oil and other fluids required to operate the rental unit.
Unit must be affixed with a metal tag designating the supplying company, a POC responsible for repairs and maintenance, and a phone number for the POC who is responsible for repairs and maintenance.
Contractor must provide instruction manual and training as requested.
Contractor provided equipment (i.e. hoses, manifolds, etc.) shall have insulation installed around them to reduce temperature losses in the Chill Water System.
Interested vendors should notify contract speicialist of their interest
The Department of the Navy, Norfolk Naval Shipyard GF, has issued a pre-solicitation notice for the rental of a temporary air-cooled chill water unit to support critical systems in South Carolina. The requirement specifies a minimum 150-ton capacity chiller capable of continuous 24-hour operation, seven days a week. The unit must operate on a single 460/480V, 400-amp breaker with male 500 mcm Camlock electrical connections and include a pumping system providing at least 450 GPM at 300 feet of head pressure. The system must be free-standing with forklift slots and clearly marked gross weights for all components.
The contractor is responsible for providing a complete unit, including all necessary hoses, manifolds, insulation, valves, and fittings to minimize temperature loss and safety hazards. Technical requirements include an electronic monitoring system for flow rates and temperatures, with a desired output range of 45°F to 55°F and the ability to operate in ambient temperatures between 0°F and 125°F. For units holding 55 gallons or more of fluid, an environmental catch tank with 110% capacity is required. The provider must also supply an instruction manual, training upon request, and a metal tag identifying a point of contact for repairs and maintenance.
This opportunity is identified under NAICS code 532490 for Other Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing and PSC W035 for Lease or Rental of Equipment- Service and Trade Equipment.
