The Department of State has utilized the Global Financial Management System (GFMS), also known as Momentum, as its primary financial accounting platform for the past 6 years. GFMS is a web-based accounting system providing a single platform for our domestic financial data, reporting requirements, and data standardization. The core software product underlying GFMS is the Momentum Financials Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) system developed by CGI Federal, Inc. The current vendor has, to date, designed and implemented the GFMS courses, and trained all Department of State employees on the GFMS software platform.
