(RFI): Multispectral Screening Obscuration Modules (SOM)

The Department of the Army, through the Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), has issued a Sources Sought notice to identify industry capabilities for the Multispectral Screening Obscuration Module (SOM-M). Managed by the Joint Product Manager for CBRN Layered Effects, the program seeks to acquire a modular, man-portable, and ground-emplaced obscuration system for both mounted and dismounted operations. The primary objective is to field a system capable of producing a multispectral obscurant cloud to enhance the survivability of joint warfighters in contested environments. The government is considering existing commercial systems, modified platforms, or the rapid development of new systems and obscurant materials.
