NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Amendment One: The purpose of this amendment is to add the performance work statement and attachements 1 and 2 to the solicitation. The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC, 28533, hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Surface Enhancement Technologies (SET) (CAGE: 3AV35) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is to provide modification of the LPC 1st Stage Vanes by applying a surface enhancement treatment called Low Plasticity Burnishing (LPB) to the vane trailing edge and inboard platform area for a period of one (1) year at Fleet Readiness Center East (NAICS 336413 per the performance work statement). Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required services for these items. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from SET, the only company approved and authorized by NAVAIRSYSCOM to perform this service. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. POC is Jamie L.
