The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of the Chief Procurement Officer on behalf of its Office of Technology Development intends to award a sole source follow-on Research & Development contract to purchase continued development of overt security features based on video animation effects suitable for use in protecting the next generation of U.S. Federal Reserve Notes from counterfeiting threats and to provide the general public with a user friendly feature to quickly and confidently validate notes passed in common, everyday transactions.The Government intends to award a sole source contract with NanoTech Security, Corp. utilizing Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements IAWFAR Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). Anticipated award date will be September 30, 2021. The vendor will continue to perform Research and Development services in order to continually develop a fully functional overt + device assisted feature combining video animation and unique ultraviolet-light-activated fluorescence effects, for the Contractor to achieve proof of technology manufacturability on full industrial scale and for the Contractor to support the complete integration of the feature technology into the BEPs final product of a U.S. Federal Reserve Note (FRN).. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive offers/quotes/proposals. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The solicitation will not be posted. To be considered, responses MUST be received NO LATER THAN 12:00PM, EASTERN STANDARD TIME, February 1, 2021.
