However, all responsible sources are encouraged to submit a response to this synopsis in writing that contains information that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies. However, all responsible sources may identify by providing a response to this notice, their interest and capability to satisfy the Government’s requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for an award of a contract. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract for the manufacture, testing, and inspection of 20 wire support springs in support of the L2 Recovery CVN program.
