Intent to Sole Source - Prescription Eyeglasses and Optician Services for VISN 6 This in an intent to sole source notification. Network Contracting Office 6 intends to award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract on or before 01APR2023 to Superior Optical Labs, Inc. to provide prescription eyeglasses supplies and optician services to the VISN 6 Veteran beneficiaries in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. The requirement is to provide prescription eyeglasses, supplies, and optician services for six (6) month base period, and one (1) six (6) month option period of performance. This will provide continued prescription eyeglasses supplies and optician services to the VISN 6 Veteran beneficiaries while NCO 6 completes the evaluation of proposals and issues a new long-term contract. Network Contracting Office 6 expects to complete the evaluation of proposals and the award determination documentation by May and to award the long term replacement contract in June 2023.
