PEREGRINE HAS SUCCESSFULLY DEVELOPED AN INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY UNDER THE PHASE II SBIR EFFORT. THIS PHASE II-E EFFORT WILL UTILIZE THE DEVELOPMENTS TO DATE AND EXTEND THE RESEARCH TO FURTHER LIGHT-WEIGHT AND INCREASED PERFORMANCE OF ISOTHERMAL RADIATORS PRODUCED FROM TITANIUM WITH EMBEDDED FLAT HEAT PIPES FILLED WITH A WORKING FLUID OF WATER (A PROVEN LONG LIFE SYSTEM). IN PHASE II, PEREGRINE DEMONSTRATED THE ABILITY TO PRODUCE 1 METER SIZE FUNCTIONING RADIATORS THAT ARE NEAR ISOTHERMAL IN THEIR PERFORMANCE. THROUGH THE COURSE OF PHASE II, PEREGRINE FOCUSED ON PRODUCIBILITY AND THE TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENT OF ESTABLISHING A NEAR ISOTHERMAL RADIATOR; WHILE WEIGHT AND PERFORMANCE WERE GOALS, NEITHER WERE OPTIMIZED. THAT IS THE FOCUS OF THIS PHASE IIE. UNDER THIS PHASE WE HAVE A SIX [6] TASK EFFORT TO OPTIMIZE THE WEIGHT AND PERFORMANCE OF THESE ISOTHERMAL RADIATORS TO YIELD A PROTO-FLIGHT LIKE RADIATOR FOR FISSION POWER SYSTEMS (FPS).
