The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation (DLA) is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice to identify potential manufacturers or suppliers capable of providing 429 National Stock Numbers (NSNs) for consumable and Depot Level Reparable spare parts. Classified under NAICS 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC 1630 (Aircraft Wheel and Brake Systems), the requirement supports aircraft wheel and brake systems assigned to Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems (MABS). The government currently procures these items on a part-number basis and does not possess technical data, necessitating a sole-source acquisition under FAR 6.302-1 with MABS for their facilities in Akron, Ohio; Gardena, California; and the United Kingdom.
The proposed acquisition seeks to renew existing contracts expiring in 2028 with a new strategic long-term contract consisting of a five-year base period and a five-year option period. This ten-year performance period will take place in Richmond, Virginia, and may include additional sole-source items added via contract modification. Interested parties must submit company information, manufacturing capabilities, and a timeline for Source Approval Request (SAR) packages by May 18, 2026. These SAR packages must provide all necessary technical data to demonstrate the ability to manufacture products to a quality level equal to or exceeding the current approved items.
