Please see the attached RFW for additional details.
The United States Marine Corps is conducting market research through Request for White Paper (RFW) M67854-26-I-1047 to identify potential solutions for the Organic Precision Fires - Medium (OPF-M) program. This program aims to provide the Fleet Marine Force with an organic, man-portable, loitering, and beyond line-of-sight precision strike capability for engaging armored targets while minimizing collateral damage. The OPF-M system is designed for transport via tactical vehicles and carry by dismounted Marines to support anti-armor destruction beyond enemy detection and engagement ranges. The government is seeking information from both traditional and non-traditional defense contractors to understand the current state of technology for these loitering munition systems.
The acquisition strategy utilizes phased releases, starting with Baseline System Capabilities (BSC) intended to deliver procurement-ready capability within one year of contract award. Concurrently, the Marine Corps plans to invest in Capability Growth Areas (CGA) to develop improvements for follow-on phases. The government is issuing this RFW in anticipation of an upcoming competitive process under 10 U.S.C. § 4022. A formal solicitation for prototype Other Transaction Authority (OTA) awards is anticipated in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, with potential prototype demonstrations in fiscal year 2027 and production awards beginning in fiscal year 2028.
