Chiller Replacement JBSA FSH Bldg1029
The Department of the Air Force, 502nd Contracting Squadron, is seeking quotes to replace a 150-ton chiller at Building 1029, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This project is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 238220. The scope includes removing existing units and installing a new chiller that integrates with the facility's Johnson Controls Building Management System. Work involves electrical grounding, piping modifications, and factory startup. The government will evaluate quotes using a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) process, with technical capability based on a submitted plan and the use of factory-trained or OEM-qualified technicians. Amendment 2 updated the solicitation to include FAR Clause 52.237-2 and provided answers to questions from the May 20, 2026, site visit. The performance period is 30 calendar days, and the contractor must provide a five-year warranty on the compressor along with a one-year warranty on parts and labor. The Air Force has extended the response deadline to June 11, 2026, and added FAR Clause 52.237-2 regarding the protection of government property. The project requires replacing a 150-ton chiller at JBSA Fort Sam Houston within a 30-day performance period. All work must be performed by factory-trained or OEM-qualified technicians and include integration with the existing Johnson Controls system. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment, including piping modifications and electrical grounding.
