20MAY2026 Update
The CFS has been revised to clarify when a Bill of Materials (BOM) will be required. Final Call for Solution PPTS (20May2026)
The Department of the Army, through the U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) Natick Contracting Division, issued a Call for Solutions for a Portable Patient Transportation System (PPTS). This pre-solicitation notice, identified by solicitation number W911QY-26-S-PPTS-01, was released under the authority of 10 U.S.C. § 4022 for prototype projects against the Army Open Solicitation. The government initially sought solution briefs to award multiple Prototype Other Transaction Agreements for the development of the PPTS. The requirement is classified under NAICS 339113 for Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing and PSC 4240 for Safety and Rescue Equipment, with no set-aside designation applied.
As of June 5, 2026, the Department of the Army has formally cancelled this Call for Solutions. The cancellation followed a review of market dynamics and internal cost estimates, with the intent to reassess the acquisition strategy and baseline requirements to ensure a more competitive environment. While the original response deadline was June 3, 2026, for performance at Natick, MA, the government now intends to release a Request for Information to gather industry perspective before a future resolicitation.
The notice lifecycle included 11 attachments, including various iterations of the Call for Solutions, a Statement of Objectives, a Capabilities Assertion Matrix, and multiple sets of questions and answers. Point of contact Dan Adams managed inquiries for the effort. Documentation indicates that a revised solicitation or call for solutions will be released once the government completes its reassessment of the requirement.
