20MAY2026 Update
The CFS has been revised to clarify when a Bill of Materials (BOM) will be required. Final Call for Solution PPTS (20May2026)
The Department of the Army, through the U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division, has issued a formal notification of cancellation for the Portable Patient Transport System (PPTS) Call for Solutions, solicitation number W911QY-26-S-PPTS-01. Originally issued under the authority of 10 U.S.C. § 4022 for prototype projects, the government intended to award multiple Prototype Other Transaction Agreements for solution briefs addressing portable patient transport requirements. Following a review of market dynamics and internal cost estimates, the Army determined that canceling the current solicitation is necessary to reassess the acquisition strategy and baseline requirements.
This pre-solicitation was classified under NAICS 339113 for Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing and PSC 4240 for Safety and Rescue Equipment, with no set-aside designated. The performance location was centered in Natick, Massachusetts, with a final response deadline previously set for June 3, 2026. The administrative record for this notice includes 11 attachments, such as the Final Call for Solution, a Capabilities Assertion Matrix, and various sets of questions and answers compiled between March and May 2026.
Despite the cancellation, the government intends to resolicit the requirement in the future to ensure a competitive environment for this medical equipment. A Request for Information will be released to gather industry perspectives as part of the Army's reassessment process. Points of contact for this effort include Agreements Officer Dan Adams.
